Qualifications

  • Read, write and communicate in English; understand basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
  • Learn from directions, observations and mistakes and apply procedures.
  • Reads switching orders from designated person.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of train crews.
  • Operates locomotive in accordance with railroad rules and regulations.
  • Reads signals and bulletins to operate locomotive safely.
  • Coordinates with dispatcher and crew for stops and delays.
  • Gives instructions to switch tracks and couple/uncouple cars.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
