Job summary

AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to perform CT simulation and treatment planning under physician supervision. You will ensure accurate positioning, verify prescriptions, and document all treatment details in the EHR to maintain patient safety and workflow efficiency.

Requires an accredited Radiation Therapy program (Associate’s, Bachelor's preferred), 2+ years of experience, and ARRT licensure with BLS.

• Computer literate (Required).
• Ability to multi-task (Required).
• Ability to communicate with patients appropriately (Required).
• Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English (Required).
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required).
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (Required).
• Record and verify system (Preferred).
• Simulation (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients' needs and resolves potential problems with courtesy and timeliness.
• Verifies physician’s prescription and treatment parameters daily.
• Identifies treatment volume and positions patient consistently.
• Performs CT Simulation and administers contrast as directed.
• Evaluates imaging, makes changes within prescribed time, documents in EHR.
• Reviews new starts for consistency, checks blocks, docs, fields, positioning.
• Represents department at meetings and monitors satisfaction surveys.
• Provides supervised education experiences for students.
• Participates in after-hours on-call coverage and maintains competency.
• Coordinates schedules and maintains flow within the treatment schedule.
• Mentors team members with daily supervision.
• Performs morning QA on the treatment unit and addresses malfunctions.
