Job summary

Cordis is seeking a highly experienced Staff R&D Engineer to identify and advance next-generation cardiovascular device opportunities. The role focuses on early-stage concept development, technical feasibility, and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Clinical, Regulatory, and Quality teams.

The successful candidate will translate clinical needs into innovative device concepts, drive prototyping, and help shape innovation roadmaps in structural heart and heart failure therapies.

Qualifications

• Requires Engineering Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience in early-stage product development for cardiovascular devices.
• Strong communication and collaboration with marketing and clinical teams.
• Experience with concept development, prototyping, and translational research.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage research and development activities for innovative cardiovascular medical devices.
• Identify and evaluate front-end innovation opportunities through assessment of landscape and needs.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Clinical teams to conduct VOC activities.
• Drive concept generation, feasibility assessments, and early prototyping efforts.
• Support development of innovation strategies aligned with business and clinical priorities.
• Translate user insights and technical findings into actionable product concepts and development plans.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, clinical, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams.
• Maintain awareness of evolving technologies and market dynamics in cardiovascular therapies.
