Qualifications

• PhD in AMO, atomic physics, or closely related field, or equivalent experience; typically 5+ years post-PhD leading complex quantum/precision systems
• Hands-on experience designing and operating AMO or coherent-control experiments; strong atom-light interaction knowledge
• Proficiency with Python for experiment control, data analysis, automation, or hardware integration; Linux and version control familiarity
• Ability to turn ambiguous goals into executable plans; lead system-level work across disciplines; communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, calibration, operation, and improvement of neutral-atom quantum computing systems and subsystems
• Translate program goals into technical requirements, experiments, and performance targets
• Design and analyze experiments and models to improve gate fidelity and processor performance
• Own critical systems through validation, troubleshooting, and documentation
• Develop Python-based tools for experiment control, data analysis, and automation
• Review technical work and uphold team standards
• Manage up to six direct reports; mentorship and career development
• Contribute to hiring, proposals, IP, roadmaps, and external technical discussions
