Infleqtion in Chicago, IL, is seeking a highly experienced quantum systems engineer to lead the design, integration, and optimization of neutral-atom quantum computing platforms. Qualifications
- PhD in atomic, optical, AMO, quantum physics, or related field; or equivalent post-PhD experience; typically 5+ years leading quantum/precision-measurement systems.
- Hands-on experience designing, operating, or improving AMO or coherent-control experiments; knowledge of atom-light interactions and laser tech.
- Proficiency with Python for experiment control, data analysis, or automation; Linux and version control experience.
- Ability to translate ambiguous goals into executable plans, lead cross-disciplinary system-level work, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, integration, calibration, operation, and improvement of neutral-atom quantum computing systems.
- Translate goals into experimental plans, performance targets, and technical direction across processor design and laser systems.
- Design and analyze experiments and models to improve gate fidelity, stability, and processor performance; guide tradeoffs.
- Own critical systems through validation, troubleshooting, and documentation; drive cross-functional delivery.
- Develop Python-based tools for experiment control, data analysis, calibration, and automation.
- Review technical work and uphold team standards.
