Job summary

The Volvo Group invites qualified applicants for Quality Inspector I at the Kings Mountain Operations facility in North Carolina. You will ensure that products meet quality standards before shipment, performing detailed inspections and documenting defects.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold safety standards. The role requires familiarity with measurement tools, production processes, and the ability to use precision instruments to verify

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Internal Assembler II Pathway completed.
• Familiarity with Android fundamentals beneficial.
• Use of measurement tools including calipers and rulers (imperial & metric).
• Proficiency in a minimum of 60% of the production jobs in their area.

Responsibilities

• Understand production processes in the assigned area.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections per the Inspection Path.
• Verify sealer bead appearance, penetration, and adherence to specs.
• Inspect cabs for cosmetic/structural defects and report findings.
• Record data on defects using MTV tablet & Yellow Card.
• Escalate recurring issues per KMO process.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Use calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and torque wrenches to verify tolerances.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Re-inspect repaired components to ensure defect closure.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
