Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer in Ohio to oversee quality reviews for additive manufacturing and ensure conformance to GE Aerospace quality systems. You will lead problem solving, establish inspection plans, and drive improvements across manufacturing, inspection and related processes.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, MRB ownership, and participation in site audit initiatives. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ years in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality
  • At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality
  • Ability to read drawings/blueprints
  • APQP and AS9100 experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Quality engineer in additive manufacturing reviewing quality with GE Aerospace standards
  • Establish inspection and control plans for conformance of additive hardware

Job Description Summary

The Lead Quality Engineer is responsible for product quality review associated with the additive manufacturing process and GE Aerospace quality system requirements. Ensures that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards. Demonstrates leadership by communicating business goals and processes effectively. Creates strategies that further the sites quality priorities and improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Quality Engineer in additive manufacturing realizing quality assurance of products, manufacturing, and inspection processes.
  • Establish inspection and control plans for conformance of additive hardware, using statistics to analyze capability Leverage FLIGHT DECK to lead problem solving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives for new technologies related to additive manufacturing processes.
  • Ownership of Material Review Board (MRB) tickets.
  • Engage in site audit initiatives; perform work station audits and support regulatory and special process audits.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Communicate and participate in team, site, IPT, and business initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality)
  • At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Quality
