Job description

Under the supervision of the Quality Control Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that lab throughput meets business demand by effectively planning resources and equipment capacity in the Finished Product Testing Lab. This individual will perform testing on finished products and provide technical expertise to aid in decisions on finished product release.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong communication, leadership, and operational skills to lead the team's daily activities of testing, data entry/review, and release of finished products. The candidate must demonstrate a sense of urgency and maintain a consistent level of energy to inspire and motivate team members. They should be approachable and able to communicate effectively with other departments.

What will you do?

  • Perform and coordinate testing on finished products while adhering to cGLP, cGMP, SOPs, and all safety regulations applicable to the laboratory.
  • Lead and motivate a team to support testing for fast-changing manufacturing priorities.
  • Develop training materials and coach new employees.
  • Represent the finished product lab on cross-departmental teams as needed.
  • Exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Answer specific questions during customer and regulatory agency audits.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Business.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of related laboratory experience.
  • Experience (2+ years) with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with LIMS, E1, and Trackwise preferred.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, team-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of endotoxin, bioburden, sterility testing, USP microbiological tests, and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience with PCR, ELISA, and micropipetting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of ISO regulations.
  • Ability to gain support from colleagues and team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships and influence team members without formal authority.

The hourly pay range for this position based in New York is $–$.
