Pharmacy Prior Authorization Senior Representative - Remote AZ – Remote IL – Remote MA

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Prior Authorization Senior Representative is a Band 2 Professional Career Track Role focused on high-touch programs to assist patients. Responsibilities include researching benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, processing orders, and communicating with sales teams, patients, and providers to elevate pharmacy patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Enter prescriptions accurately, adjudicate claims, and handle rejections.
  2. Use clinic-specific EMR systems to gather information for prior authorizations.
  3. Follow contractual and company principles.
  4. Investigate benefit inquiries and handle insurance questions.
  5. Manage prior authorization submissions, follow-ups, and appeals.
  6. Assist patients and providers in understanding pharmacy benefits.
  7. Participate in meetings, training, and special projects.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Valid National Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • State pharmacy technician license for AZ, MA, or IL.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Strong math skills for prescription calculations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with prior authorization tools like CoverMyMeds.
  • Teamwork and ownership of projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Work Schedule & Requirements
  • Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm EST, with weekends as needed.
  • Home internet with minimum 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.
