Job summary

Staffmark in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant Manager for an on-site role in food manufacturing. Salary ranges between $75,000 and $85,000 per year, negotiable based on experience. The position requires leading QC technicians across two shifts and maintaining audit-ready quality records.

You will collaborate with FSQA, R&D and Production, support regulatory compliance, CAPA investigations, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years of quality control/assurance in a regulated manufacturing setting.
• 1–2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience, ready to move into an assistant manager role.
• Strong experience with regulatory compliance and documentation (USDA/FDA, HACCP, GMPs) and audit-ready records.
• Hands-on technical manufacturing plant experience with process monitoring and production oversight.
• Willingness to work onsite 5 days a week with flexible hours across 1st/2nd shifts and some weekends.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule the QC technicians across 1st and 2nd shifts, including weekend hours.
• Build strong relationships with department leaders and plant staff on all shifts.
• Provide regular training on food safety, GMPs, documentation practices and quality tasks.
• Adjust schedules as needed to support QA/QC and production.
