Job summary

Cboe Global Markets is seeking a Lead Engineer, Quality Assurance to own quality for the BIDS Trader workstation, matching engine, and back-end services. You will collaborate with developers, product managers and business stakeholders in New York and Calgary to raise test coverage and accelerate releases.

The role requires 5–10 years in QA for complex real-time systems, plus experience designing test strategies and working in Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Five to 10 years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering, with a track record on complex, transactional or real-time systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design and maintain manual and automated test suites, not only to execute them.
• Experience owning test strategy and test plans across functional, regression and integration testing in an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Validate FIX connectivity and client onboarding flows, testing order entry, execution reports and drop-copy behavior against client and venue specifications.
• Define the test approach for new features, working with development and product from requirements through to release.
• Execute and evolve functional, regression and end-to-end integration testing, including performance and resilience scenarios against the trading engine.
• Build test harnesses, test data and environment tooling that widen coverage and shorten feedback loops for the whole team.
• Integrate automated suites into CI pipelines and keep them fast and stable.
• Investigate defects through to root cause, with clear reproduction steps, and partner with developers on the fix and its verification.
• Contribute to release readiness reviews and verify behavior in production following deployments.
• Challenge yourself and the team on quality practices, and champion continuous improvement in how we test.
