Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer- Python Distributed Development and AI Modernization to design, build, and ship agentic systems that ingest legacy mainframe logic and produce modern services.

You will partner with domain SMEs across Credit, Money Market & Mutual Funds to validate outputs, extend ETL/CDC pipelines, and own LLMOps for a scalable, secure production stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in relevant roles.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, testing, and cloud platforms (AWS/EKS/ECS).
• Expert proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor).
• Strong Python development experience in production environments.
• Ability to operate and debug complex systems and articulate trade-offs.
• Experience guiding enterprise AI practices with secure, compliant usage.

Responsibilities

• Builds and operates the spec generation pipeline and RAG pipelines.
• Develops agentic workflows for code translation and migration (Kotlin/JVM).
• Builds evaluation and verification infrastructure with parity testing and regression suites.
• Contributes to the standard calculation runtime and ensures auditable execution.
• Partners with domain SMEs across Credit and Wealth Management to validate outputs.
• Extends ETL and CDC pipelines for agent workflows and data mapping.
• Operates AI systems in production with proper monitoring and cost management.
• Iterates rapidly, shipping with data-driven decisions on architecture and prompts.
• Contributes to shared tooling and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices.
