Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lead Python Developer to strengthen our engineering team in the United States. You will design and optimize backend API infrastructure, microservices, and cloud-native APIs, partnering with cross-functional peers to deliver scalable solutions.

The role involves implementing RAG workflows, LangChain-based tooling, ensuring security and testing, and influencing architectural direction. Leadership and hands-on Python expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

Five+ years of backend development, microservices and distributed systems.
Experience building Python backend systems and cloud-native APIs.
Proven leadership directing development teams.
Hands-on experience with Generative AI and LangChain.
Secure coding practices with strong auth controls.

Responsibilities

Design backend API infrastructure and orchestration for large language models.
Develop and maintain RAG workflows including document processing and embedding creation.
Build and connect agent-driven tooling with LangChain, LangGraph, MCP as applicable.
Uphold security, data confidentiality, testing, and system visibility.
Influence architectural direction and set technical standards.
Collaborate with frontend, data engineering, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions.
