Job summary

EPAM is seeking a senior software engineer to design and implement Python-based AI agents for triage, categorization and decision support. You will build RAG pipelines, natural-language processing, and production-grade AI apps integrated with Python, APIs, and data platforms.

You will collaborate with Regulatory Operations and stakeholders to map workflows, translate business logic into automation, and deploy on cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of software development experience and strong Python proficiency.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying production-grade AI applications, using LangChain, and optimizing RAG solutions beyond API queries or notebook experiments.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, Python coding standards, and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy and FastAPI.
• Proficiency in React and hands-on experience with cloud platforms and tools, including AWS, Terraform, and Docker.
• Ability to translate complex business logic into automated workflows and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Python-based AI agents for triage, categorization, and decision support for natural-language exceptions and vendor-submitted issues.
• Develop natural-language matching, classification logic, and LLM applications, including RAG pipelines and intelligent automation.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Operations and stakeholders to map workflows and automate processes.
• Turn proof-of-concept ideas into scalable, production-ready LLM applications integrated with Python apps, APIs, and data platforms.
• Support rule-text interpretation, sourcing and transformation logic, and automated code generation.
• Design, implement, test, and launch Python apps using FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and React with client systems.
• Deploy and operate apps on cloud platforms; lead reviews, engage in Agile planning, and mentor team members.
