Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York, NY, invites applications for a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist to ensure and coordinate delivery of prescribed PFT services through direct testing and supervision of staff.

The successful candidate will calibrate equipment, supervise lab operations, assess patients, manage aerosol delivery and emergency procedures, and educate clinical teams and patients on PFT processes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent in respiratory care recognized by NYS Board for Respiratory Therapy.
• CPFT specialty credential required within a year of hire and NYS license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise diagnostic pulmonary function testing per prescriptions.
• Calibrate and operate lab equipment for PFTs.
• Assess patients and manage clinical aerosol delivery and emergency procedures.
• Lead and supervise the pulmonary function laboratory staff.
• Educate staff, patients, families, and clinicians on PFT processes.
• Ensure adherence to policies and instrument standards in the lab.
