Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in Manhattan, part of NYU Langone Health, seeks a Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist to coordinate and deliver prescribed pulmonary function testing services at the Center for Women's Health. The successful candidate will perform diagnostic PFTs, calibrate equipment, assess patients, educate staff and patients, and support the PFT lab operations.

NBRC credentials and NYS licensure (or CPFT certification) are required, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• NBRC credentials and NYS license options (or CPFT) are required.
• Computer competency with Windows-based pulmonary function software is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of standards, policies, procedures, and instrumentation for diagnostic pulmonary function testing.
• Calibrates and operates laboratory equipment for diagnostic PFTs.
• Performs patient assessment, clinical aerosol delivery, and emergency management related to PFTs.
• Oversees pulmonary function laboratory operations.
• Provides instruction to laboratory staff, patients, and other hospital personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
