State of Connecticut is seeking a Head Nurse for the Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System in Bridgeport, CT. The role focuses on supervision, clinical leadership, and coordination of nursing care for adults with behavioral health needs in a psychiatric unit.

The position requires an RN license in Connecticut (or compact license) and at least two years of RN experience, with preference for inpatient/psychiatric backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general experience.
• Preferred qualifications include inpatient and psychiatric experience, nursing supervision, and proficiency with Word/Excel for clinical documentation.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning of care and implementation of the nursing process.
• Plan unit workflow and determine priorities.
• Schedule, assign, oversee and review work.
• Provide staff training and guidance.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to ensure continuity of patient care.
• May serve as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP).
• Perform related duties as required.
