Job summary
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. (MEPPI) seeks a Principal Protection & Controls Engineer to lead FACTS and HVDC system studies and oversee designs for power electronic converters, in a hybrid telework environment.
Gain global collaboration with engineering teams, guide testing and commissioning, support bids, and influence industry standards. A Bachelor’s in Electrical or Power Electronics and 10+ years of FACTS/HVDC experience are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of power electronics, substation equipment, harmonic filtering, protection/control systems.
- Experience analyzing technical challenges and proposing innovative solutions.
- Proven ability to influence trade organization standards and collaborate with global teams.
- Proficient with MATLAB, Simulink, and power system simulation software.
Responsibilities
- Lead design studies for FACTS and HVDC systems.
- Develop specifications for power electronic equipment and control systems.
- Oversee testing and commissioning, including factory and field tests.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on product development.
- Support bids and customer presentations with technical expertise.
