Job summary

Tailing International, LLC in Point Pleasant, WV is seeking a Lead Contract Safety Advisor to coordinate and supervise health and safety programs on client projects. This role involves field work and daily presence in the work zones.

The position includes 7 days per week per diem for travelers and requires more than 7 years of safety experience in contract or full-time roles, plus either a current BCSP certification or a 4-year Safety degree.

Qualifications

• Must have: 10+ years of construction safety experience
• Must have: Either a BCSP current certification or a Degree in Safety
• Must have lead experience on projects with 5+ safety professionals
• Ability to conduct daily and weekly safety trainings
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Prevent accidents, injuries and claims by being visible in the field and walking jobs 70%+ of time
• Develop and deliver Safety Training and New Hire Orientations
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Client safety regulations
• Lead investigations and oversee return-to-work programs
• Perform site safety audits on a daily or weekly basis
• Lead hazard control programs and safety improvements
• Coach employees to meet safety goals
• Maintain confidentiality regarding injuries and claims
• Act as liaison for project drug and alcohol testing
• Take on additional duties as Client needs dictate

Lead Contract Safety Advisor – Point Pleasant, WV

7 days per week per diem for travelers.

Must have more than 7 years safety experience (contract or full-time) and;

ONE of the following: Current BCSP (CHST, CSP, ASP, GSP, SMS) - OR - 4 year Degree in Safety

The individual in this position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Clients/Project Health and Safety Programs and Policies. The safety professional will work directly for the contractor.

Safety Professionals will typically plan, lead, and direct the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures to site or client supervision.

Job Qualifications

• Must have: 10 or more years’ experience in construction safety
• Must have: Either a BCSP current certification or a Degree in Safety
• Must have lead experience on projects managing 5 or more safety professionals.
• Prefer: Electrical construction experience.
• Must be able to conduct daily and weekly safety trainings.
• Ability to walk and be on feet most of the workday.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to enter confined spaces.
• Ability to carry up to 50-pounds of safety/construction related equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment and criminal background check.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional planning, time-management, and follow-through.

• Prevent and mitigate employee injuries and illnesses.
• Lead/Assist in accident investigations and return to work programs.
• Perform job site safety audits on a daily or weekly basis per project demands.
• Must have the ability to anticipate, develop, implement, and measure hazard controls and programs.
• Inspire and coach employees to accomplish safety goals.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding injuries and claims.
• Take a proactive, rather than reactive, approach in claims and injury reduction.
• Act as the liaison for project drug and alcohol testing.
• Other duties may be assigned as Client needs dictate and increasing skill level is demonstrated.
