Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Project Manager for heavy civil construction to lead projects from concept to completion. You will oversee earthwork, underground utilities, and site development, coordinating with clients, subs, and inspectors to meet schedule and budget.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil project management, strong reading of plans and geotechnical data, and a proven record of safety and quality on complex site projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil project management experience.
• Ability to read grading and utility plans, specs, and geotechnical data.
• Knowledge of earthwork equipment and site utilities.
• Solid understanding of construction safety, OSHA standards, and maintenance.
• Strong math ability and creative problem-solving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to lead diverse crews.

Responsibilities

• Attend client and subcontractor meetings to capture project requirements.
• Compare budgets and bid documents for alignment.
• Develop site-specific project plans.
• Inspect shop drawings, manufacturing, and installations for design intent.
• Lead subcontractors and site supervision.
• Obtain permits and licenses and manage access.
• Develop and maintain overall project schedule.
• Anticipate problems proactively and solve them.
• Understand quantity take-offs and evaluate cut/fill.
• Lead Field Supervisents on projects.
