Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a licensed Project Engineer to lead design and execution of water and wastewater projects. You will own technical deliverables from concept through final design, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and liaise with clients and agencies to ensure quality, schedule, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a PE license, ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, and 4+ years of progressive engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with active licensure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and coordinate across disciplines.
• Experience in water distribution or wastewater design is preferred.
• Familiarity with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce complete engineering designs for water/wastewater systems.
• Evaluate design alternatives balancing quality, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate work with project managers, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Review work by engineers, EITs, designers and technicians for accuracy.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, and regulatory submittals.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to professional development.
