Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a project engineering professional to support the project team across small to large complex projects. You will serve as a lead technical resource on smaller projects, interpreting plans, assembling submittals, coordinating procurement, and tracking changes that affect cost and schedule.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a minimum of three years’ experience, and strong knowledge of HVAC/plumbing systems with the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing systems and operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team on multiple projects and act as a lead technical resource on smaller projects.
• Collaborate with management and stakeholders and inform them on issues affecting timeline and budget.
• Manage change orders and expedite materials; estimate impact of changes.
• Provide interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assemble submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procure equipment, materials and services; participate in subcontractor selection.
