Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a project-oriented engineer to support the project team on multiple complex projects. You will act as a lead technical resource on smaller to mid-size projects and collaborate with management to keep timelines and budgets on track.

You will interpret plans and specifications, assemble submittal packages, procure equipment and services, and participate in subcontractor selection. Strong communication and CAD/Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with CADD and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with management to inform on project timeline and budget.
• Interprets plans and specifications.
• Assembles submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procures equipment, materials, and services; participates in subcontractor selection.
• Manages change orders and estimates impact of changes.
• Addresses complex questions and problems as needed.
