Job summary

Southland Industries in Carrollton, Texas is seeking a lead project engineer to support our project teams on complex HVAC/mechanical systems. You will serve as a technical resource and help ensure projects run on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with management, manage change orders, interpret plans, assemble submittals, and coordinate procurement and subcontractor decisions. The role requires a BS in Engineering, at least 3 years of experience, and strong communication and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and general operations.
Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills including CADD and Excel.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with management and stakeholders and informs them on issues affecting project timeline and budget.
Manages change orders and tracks them; expedites material as needed and estimates impact of changes.
Provides interpretation of plans and specifications.
Assembles complete submittal packages and related project documents.
Procures equipment, materials and services; participates in subcontractor selection and hiring.
Analyzes and resolves complex questions and problems as needed.
