Southland Industries in New Albany, OH, is seeking a capable project engineer to support the project team on multiple complex projects. The role serves as a lead technical resource on smaller projects, collaborating with management and stakeholders to keep everyone informed of issues affecting timeline and budget.

You will read mechanical and plumbing plans, help manage change orders, expedite materials, assemble submittal packages, and assist in selecting subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• Strong reading of mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with CAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams on multiple complex projects as a lead technical resource.
• Collaborate with management to inform on schedule and budget impacting issues.
• Manage change orders and expedite materials as needed.
• Estimate impact of changes and interpret plans and specs.
• Assemble submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procure equipment, materials, and services; assist in subcontractor selection.
• Resolve complex project questions and problems as needed.
