Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Company is seeking a Project Engineer to support construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing processes to manage project information and KPIs.

You will assist a Project Manager on larger projects and guide technical staff to enable effective project management. Based out of Vancouver, WA or Irvine, CA, the role involves analysis of design, coordination with teams, and administration of contract execution and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field or equivalent experience in project or field engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in the construction or engineering field.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with strong communication and organization.
• Ability to set excellence standards in safety, quality, and productivity for subordinates.
• Demonstrated team leadership and project engineering management capabilities.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable, materials control, estimating, and subcontracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of contract plans and specifications.
• Review and resolve design/construction problems with design team and clients.
• Ensure engineering activities meet requirements and support scheduling.
• Create and manage a contract execution plan.
• Provide technical support for construction methods and constructability.
• Administer document control for design documents on site.
• Maintain project logs, submittals, and documentation.
• Represent the company in design reviews and coordination meetings.
• Assist in defining scopes of work for subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Oversee project master schedule updates using scheduling software.
• Oversee Contract Administration team and change management.
• Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections.
• Support environmental health and safety programs at project level.
• Manage project team and deliverables, and closeout plans.
