Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking an Engineer II to support project engineering, planning, and controls across multiple sites in California.

You will interpret drawings, perform takeoffs, assist in field and office engineering, and help manage costs and scheduling for industrial projects. The role requires 3+ years of field experience, a civil engineering-related degree, and willingness to travel/relocate to project locations such as Irvine, San Diego, or El Portal.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' construction field experience.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work.
• Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and as-built data.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA’s.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate work groups on site; supervise field operations.
