Job summary

Primoris Energy Services in Amarillo, Texas, seeks a Lead Project Controls Scheduler to develop, maintain and analyze complex project schedules using Primavera P6 for large-scale energy infrastructure.

The role collaborates with project managers, engineers, procurement and construction teams to gather data, perform critical path and schedule risk analyses, and report baselines, variances and look-ahead schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in project scheduling and controls, large-scale energy/industrial construction.
• Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 (P6 EPPM).
• Experience leading scheduling on complex multi-discipline projects.
• PMP or PMI-SP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance, and analysis of complex project schedules using Primavera P6 for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to gather project data and integrate it into comprehensive schedules.
• Perform critical path analysis, identify potential delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Develop and implement schedule baselines, monitor progress against baselines, and report on schedule variances.
• Prepare detailed progress reports, schedule narratives, and look-ahead schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop contingency plans.
• Ensure adherence to company scheduling procedures, industry best practices, and client requirements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior schedulers and project controls personnel.
• Participate in project reviews, meetings, and presentations, effectively communicating schedule status and key issues.
• Support change management processes by evaluating the impact of changes on project schedules.
• Utilize earned value management principles to monitor project performance.
