Job summary

AECOM is seeking a talented Project Architect to join our Buildings + Places team in Houston, Dallas and Austin, Texas. This role focuses on strong design leadership, technical delivery, and client collaboration across diverse project types.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality architectural solutions while ensuring compliance with codes and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect in the state of Texas or ability to obtain licensure within a year of hire date.
• Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, plus visualization tools Enscape or Lumion.
• Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices.

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead the design process for projects across commercial, industrial, logistics and interiors sectors.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to integrate architectural solutions.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed design drawings, specs, and reports compliant with codes.
• Client Interaction: Support client engagement, presentations, and design reviews.
• Team Collaboration: Work with senior architects and project managers to meet timelines and budgets.
• Design Excellence: Deliver innovative, functional architectural solutions.
• Communication: Present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Address complex design challenges with creative thinking.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and quality across project delivery.
