Job summary

SmithGroup in Phoenix is seeking a Project Architect to lead a team on complex projects, from design development through construction documents, coordinating with consultants. The role emphasizes mentorship, client engagement, and production of high-quality technical packages.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in senior living and residential projects, LEED AP and architectural registration preferred, and strong ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• 10+ years of professional experience on senior living or residential projects.
• LEED AP and Architectural Registration preferred.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary teams and engineering systems.
• Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Experience leading architects and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of architects to complete technical documents for projects of complex nature.
• Prepare, coordinate, and complete construction documents packages.
• Lead day-to-day construction administration activities including coordination with the contractor, owner, and consultants to maintain project progress.
• Mentor, provide oversight, and monitor the work performed by junior staff.
• Establish and execute project work plan and staffing requirements.
• Develop trusted relationships with clients.
