Job summary

SmithGroup in Denver is seeking a Project Architect to lead architectural teams on complex projects, coordinating construction documents and administration. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, 10+ years of experience in senior living or residential projects, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience with medium to large-sized senior living and/or residential projects.
• LEED AP and Architectural Registration preferred.
• Working knowledge of engineering systems; can engage with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with clients and build client relationships and trust.
• Strong mentoring, written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• High proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Experience with wood framed construction is preferred.
• Experience leading other architects and project teams.
• Demonstrated understanding of code implementation and jurisdiction review.
• Demonstrated understanding of construction practices and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of architects to complete technical documents for complex projects.
• Prepare, coordinate, and complete construction documents packages.
• Lead day-to-day construction administration activities with contractors and consultants.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff.
• Establish and execute project work plans and staffing.
• Develop trusted relationships with clients.
• Participate in recruiting and performance management of staff.
• Meet with owners and user groups to determine program needs.
