Job summary

Smoking Gun Interactive (SGI), part of Keywords Studios, is seeking a Lead Programmer with a strong background in C++, C#, and game systems. The role emphasizes mentoring, project-wide technical vision, and full-stack development across multiple game domains.

Remote work is offered to applicants located in BC, ideally the Vancouver area. You will drive code quality, architectural decisions, and team coordination while collaborating with Production to meet milestone goals and ensure robust,

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a programmer in the game industry or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Shipped at least one game as a senior or lead programmer.
• Expert working knowledge of C++ and C#, Standard Library and OO design.
• Strong understanding of general and 3D math, statistics and probability.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Technical Director to establish a unified technology vision for the project.
• Produce high-quality, efficient, clean, and modular code.
• Mentor and train programmers and oversee a team of developers.
• Lead and coordinate teams in software and embedded systems development.
• Plan, design, and coordinate development, integration and operation of systems.
• Provide and accept feedback on code quality and performance.
