Job summary

West Bristol School is seeking a Paraeducator for the LEAD Program. You will assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under the supervision of a Special Education Teacher, support classroom management, and help implement IEPs.

Responsibilities include supervising students, facilitating instructional activities, and preparing materials. The role may involve toileting assistance and routine school duties within a dynamic classroom.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED; two years of college credit or an associate's degree, or paraprofessional assessment demonstrating content knowledge in math, reading and writing.
• Language skills include reading simple instructions, writing simple correspondence and presenting information in small groups.
• Math skills include basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume and distance.
• Basic computer skills with job-related software/hardware.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher with maintaining discipline during activities.
• Assist with instructional activities and classroom tasks.
• Escort students between rooms and supervise during recess and lunch.
• Assist with IEP implementation and prepare instructional materials.
• Handle toileting of students when required and ensure safety.
