Job summary

John Deere in Dubuque, IA is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations for JD Worldwide Construction & Forestry. You will manage staffing, safety, quality and productivity on the line, and drive engagement with teams on continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 2+ years in unionized manufacturing, strong communication, and decision-making under pressure. Onsite position with opportunities to impact throughput, waste reduction and people development.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in unionized manufacturing environment.
1+ years of experience with manufacturing and quality management principles, tools, and processes.
Willingness to work overtime (weekdays or weekends) to support operational needs.
Excellent communicator who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.
Demonstrated experience making sound decisions and being proactive in a high-pressure or time-sensitive environments.
Ability to conduct crucial conversations, including enforcing company policies, practices, procedures and work rules.
Experience communicating across functions, such as supply management, engineering, operations, and human resources or labor relations.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor individual and department performance on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency and take corrective action as needed.
Drive employee engagement activities while establishing a positive environment through regular communication, feedback, and guidance.
Ensure personnel have training, work instructions, and tooling to execute their jobs.
Lead safety communications, drive CI process engagement, SERA process and prompt near-miss reporting with quick, thorough safety actions.
Manage daily staffing and moves on the line to meet production and warehousing requirements.
Oversee production activities to ensure products meet all established quality requirements.
Drive department-level support of factory goals regarding 5S, Continuous Improvement, manpower planning, and operating budgets.
