Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks an experienced Production Specialist to support boiler/HRSG fleet engineering across multiple power plants. You will lead maintenance, perform diagnostics, tune performance, and coordinate outages while interfacing with plants, OEMs, and other teams.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, reliability-centered maintenance, and project oversight with extensive travel and a requirement for availability on non-standard schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in power generation or equivalent industrial setting with focus areas listed.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and maintenance processes for power plants.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work non-typical schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for control systems and major equipment problems at all facilities.
• Manage major maintenance projects including scoping, planning, scheduling, and supervision of craft staff.
• Coordinate outages and supervise major facility maintenance projects.
• Develop standards and procedures to improve equipment reliability.
• Coordinate maintenance/capital projects with plant and engineering staff and document results.
