Job summary

Jobtailor in Texas is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to plan, direct, and monitor manufacturing activities ensuring schedules, costs, and quality targets are met.

You will coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, and Sales while leading hourly and clerical staff, enforcing Safe Quality Food standards, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

Qualifications

• BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree.
• Understanding and application of established procedures.
• Full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
• Broad technical expertise, process and people leadership capabilities, and business and industry experience.
• Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods.
• Ability to report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints.
• Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions.
• Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage, and quality targets
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and related functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
• Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
• Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
• Monitor operational and financial results for the area of responsibility
• Manage hiring, termination, rewarding, training, and employee development actions
• Supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly production, craft, and clerical employees
• Coordinate resources and set daily team priorities to achieve operational objectives
• Monitor daily operations of a unit or sub-unit
• Direct work-unit operations and troubleshoot operational issues
• Coordinate with related areas to improve efficiency
• Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
