Lead Production Operator - Plastic Extrusion

Position Summary

The Lead Production Operator for a PET sheet line (Recycled PET) is responsible for executing work in our manufacturing area according to scheduled production requirements. The role involves operating production equipment safely, efficiently, and with quality focus to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals. As the team lead, you will oversee all team members on your shift, ensuring their duties are performed safely and correctly following established procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise Production Operators and Material Handlers on assigned team
• Operate the PET sheet line, including raw material handling, mixing, blending, extruder operation, and roll station management
• Operate powered forklifts and lifts
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment
• Maintain responsibility for finished goods quality
• Train new operators
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Previous extrusion experience, especially with plastic sheet, is strongly preferred
• Experience in a supervisory role in production is preferred
• Manufacturing environment experience is preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Computer skills, especially Windows OS, preferred
