Job summary

Bradford Labs Inc. is seeking a Production Mechanic Supervisor to lead the production maintenance team in manufacturing and packaging operations.

You will direct setup, changeover, maintenance and repair of equipment, manage preventive maintenance programs and work orders, and ensure work is performed safely to OEM and quality specifications in compliance with GMP, OSHA, and company policies. The role requires supervising mechanics, coordinating with Operations, Quality, and HR, and guiding

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with mixing, extrusion, pressing, and packaging machinery.
• High school diploma or equivalent or demonstrated knowledge.
• Working knowledge of vacuum, pneumatic, cooling systems and components, pumps, gears, bearings, belts, shafts, and power transmission drives.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations in manufacturing maintenance.
• Mathematical skills for basic math, geometry, conversions.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts constructively.
• Detail oriented and organized with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct Production Mechanics; prioritize and review performance, provide training.
• Coordinate performance management and document conduct matters with HR.
• Mentor team members with hands-on coaching and cross-training.
• Administer the collective bargaining agreement in line with policy; coordinate with HR on labor matters.
• Coordinate maintenance with Operations and Quality to support schedules and minimize downtime.
• Schedule and manage preventive maintenance, work orders, and changeovers.
• Ensure timely line setups and changeovers per specs.
• Oversee installation, setup, major repairs, and removal of equipment.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and ensure OEM-standard repairs.
• Proactively address repetitive failures and initiate design changes.
• Read blueprints and electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
• Forecast rebuilds and equipment needs; suggest layout improvements.
• Track data for work orders, downtime, and inventory; report findings.
• Order parts and manage spare/change-part inventories.
• Assist in training programs, layouts, and fixed asset list.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers.
• Manage special projects as assigned.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and access to manuals.
