Job summary

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership in steel/fabrication environments, with Lean, 5S, Kaizen experience and a track record of improving safety and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership in steel or heavy industry.
• Experience leading supervisors and large production teams.
• Proven success improving safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the production department, meeting schedules and quality standards.
• Coach and develop Production Supervisors, Team Leads, and hourly staff.
• Promote safety by enforcing OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Monitor KPIs such as productivity, downtime, and on-time delivery.
• Drive Lean initiatives to reduce waste and optimize workflows.
• Develop staffing plans and production schedules to meet demand.
• Lead daily production meetings and communicate goals.
• Support budgeting by managing labor costs and capital projects.
