Job summary

ApplicantPool is seeking a Production Manager for a sweet potato processing facility in Burgaw, NC to lead daily production, enforce safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. You will supervise hourly staff and coordinate with QA, maintenance, and procurement to meet customer specs and production targets.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in food manufacturing, 2+ years in supervision, and a proven track record of reducing downtime, waste, and costs while maintaining

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in food manufacturing or food processing.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience managing hourly production employees and production supervisors.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations to meet schedules, customer requirements, and quality standards.
• Plan and coordinate production activities based on raw materials, orders, labor, equipment, and maintenance.
• Monitor lines to minimize downtime, waste, rework, and product loss.
• Establish and monitor production goals including throughput, yield, and OEE.
• Ensure proper handling, washing, sorting, peeling, cutting, cooking, freezing, packaging.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
• Coordinate changeovers, sanitation, startup/shutdown, and line scheduling.
• Maintain accurate production records and report results.
