ABOUT THE ROLE

At Trustly, we're transforming the way money moves in a digital world — building faster, smarter, and more secure ways to pay. As Lead Product Manager, Core Payments, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of open banking payment solutions. You’ll own and drive product strategy and execution for our core payment capabilities, working at the intersection of product, engineering, banking partners, and commercial teams.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a self-starter with deep payments expertise and a builder mindset. If you're excited by complex challenges, passionate about product innovation, and eager to shape the infrastructure powering next‑generation payments, we want to meet you.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

On the Product team, our mission is to provide our customers with cutting‑edge payment technologies that optimize user experience and meet the highest standards of security and compliance. Our team is made up of skilled and experienced professionals who are passionate about tech and committed to technical excellence. We actively search for individuals who possess exceptional problem‑solving skills and thrive on innovative thinking, enabling us to maintain our competitive edge in an industry that is continuously evolving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the roadmap and product requirements for Trustly’s core payment capabilities
  • Design and launch new payment products and enhance existing ones to drive business growth
  • Define and own the product strategy for core payments infrastructure including transaction processing, payment routing, funding, reconciliation, and ledger systems
  • Evaluate and integrate third‑party providers (e.g., ODFI’s, processors, acquirers) to optimize cost, reliability, and geographic coverage
  • Partner with internal teams (Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Sales, etc.) and external stakeholders (banks, processors, and partners) to deliver seamless, scalable solutions
  • Translate market trends, customer needs, and regulatory shifts into actionable product opportunities
  • Define and prioritize features through well‑crafted user stories, business requirements, and technical scoping
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies are incorporated into product design
  • Monitor KPIs and product performance, driving continuous improvements and optimizations
  • Lead discovery processes and collaborate with engineering to identify the most effective technical approaches
WHO YOU ARE
  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on payment systems and financial technology
  • Deep understanding of traditional and emerging payment rails (ACH, Wires, RTP, eChecks, etc.)
  • Experience working with banking partners and treasury operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)
  • Strong technical fluency; comfortable evaluating third‑party solutions and collaborating with engineering teams
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; can translate complex topics for diverse audiences
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity, prioritizing effectively, and making sound decisions quickly
  • Experience in Agile environments with a track record of shipping high‑quality products
  • Familiarity with global banking systems, payment regulations, and open banking frameworks
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Flexible paid time off & generous PTO accrual plans
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and other insurances
  • FSA & HSA plans for medical and dependent care
  • Home office set‑up allowance
  • Internet stipend
  • Retirement plan match for 401(k) and RRSP
  • Gender‑neutral paid parental leave, and more!

$160,000.00 - $215,000.00 a year
