Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL in Portage, Michigan seeks a Lead Product Engineer to guide the design and development of liquid filtration systems. You will drive complex concepts, align with specifications, cost targets, and schedules, and mentor engineers while collaborating with global teams.

You will also influence manufacturing processes, participate in Kaizen activities, and support Gates per the xSEP process, with a focus on delivering robust, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 3–5 years in a lead engineering role leading cross-cultural teams.
• Ability to define tasks with deadlines and monitor progress.
• Experience with DFMEA and new product development.
• Familiarity with automotive/heavy‑duty industries and plastics/metal processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of liquid filtration system products.
• Coordinate CAE activities and validate designs against specs and costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production strategies.
• Mentor PDE I and PDE II team members and support Kaizen/DLS.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
