Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL in Portage, MI is seeking a design engineer to contribute to filtration system design and development. You will translate concepts into CAD models and coordinate CAE analyses to validate performance, cost and manufacturability.

Work with cross-functional teams across engineering and operations, participate in Kaizen/DLS workshops, and support gates in the xSEP process to deliver robust, scalable products.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design and develop filtration systems per specs and timing.
• Conceptualize new product designs to meet internal and external product specifications, cost, and timing.
• Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate product designs and specifications, determining feasibility while minimizing costs for development and manufacturing.
• Provide product design recommendations aligned with production strategies.
• Coordinate all computer-aided engineering (CAE) necessary to validate product designs analytically.
• Analyze results to optimize design for performance, robust manufacturing, and cost efficiency.
• Complete CAD tasks as assigned by the Lead Product Engineer (LPE) and/or Manager – Design & Development. Occasionally coordinates and reviews engineering and CAD tasks with GBTS.
• Actively participates in and supports Kaizen/DLS workshops and annual objectives.
• Completes required tasks for each Gate per xSEP process.

Minimum Educational Requirement
