Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Lead Designer to own the digital language across its product suite. You’ll bridge UX design and front‑end engineering to keep interfaces cohesive, accessible, and polished.

You will define a scalable Figma component library, ensure governance for new components, and partner with engineering for pixel‑perfect execution across web, mobile, and hardware touch devices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Product Design, with 4+ years on Design Systems.
• Expert‑level Figma proficiency (Auto‑layout, Variables, Prototyping).
• Deep understanding of front‑end technologies and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience coordinating between Figma and Storybook or similar tool.
• A portfolio demonstrating polished visual design and systemic thinking.
• Technical/UX writing: naming components in a system context.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the core Figma component library, tokens, and documentation.
• Create scalable systems across web, mobile, and hardware interfaces.
• Establish governance for how new components are proposed, vetted, and integrated by the UX team.
• Bridge Design and Engineering to ensure pixel‑perfect implementation and feasibility.
• Build and test interactive components and prototypes; contribute to cross‑product experiences.
