Job summary

H1 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own end-to-end design for high-impact initiatives on the platform. You’ll ship polished solutions, from discovery to post-launch, while guiding the team and partnering with product, engineering, and domain experts.

You’ll lead design decisions, mentor peers, and evolve our design system, balancing speed, quality, and user trust in a fast-moving healthcare data environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing projects you led end-to-end.
• Proven ability to simplify complex data-heavy user flows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive presentations.
• Ability to work autonomously, scope ambiguous problems, and drive momentum.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience collaborating with engineers in an agile environment.
• Proficiency with Figma, Claude, Jira and Excel; strong design system instincts.
• Leadership presence with experience mentoring other designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from problem definition through research, concept, prototyping, delivery, and post-launch iteration.
• Move quickly from ambiguity to clear direction, making decisions with incomplete information.
• Translate complex, data-heavy workflows into clear, fast, intuitive designs.
• Identify where AI can improve user workflows, focusing on trust and transparency.
• Present work, rationale, and tradeoffs to senior leadership and translate feedback into next steps.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to scope and ship.
• Run or guide user research and usability testing to inform decisions.
• Maintain and evolve the design system.
• Raise the design bar through critique, mentoring, and sharing best practices.
• Flag risks, dependencies, and timelines early; manage multiple priorities.
