Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for a Process and Maintenance Supervisor to join our Process Engineering team in Manufacturing Operations at the West Lafayette, IN site. You will lead technicians and specialists, oversee maintenance activities, and drive continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and production performance.

The ideal candidate has a two-year associate’s degree in engineering technology, two years of leadership experience, and five years of

Qualifications

Two-year associate’s degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
Two years of leadership experience.
Five years of manufacturing-related technical experience with equipment programming, maintenance, and repair.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
Expertise in Excel, Word, Access, and maintenance software.
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
Ability to learn new skills and work in a team.
Background check satisfactory to SEL and negative drug test.

Responsibilities

Define performance standards, review outcomes of performance goals, and set future targets for technicians and specialists.
Assign technician duties and oversee training needs.
Troubleshoot processes, equipment, machinery, and systems; document and track failures; manage preventive and corrective maintenance.
Perform equipment and software evaluations and lead continuous improvement activities throughout Manufacturing Operations.
Create, update, and maintain control of department work instructions.
Work within established safety and quality standards.
Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
Apply the philosophy of Understand. Create. Simplify. in daily work and decision-making.
Perform other duties as assigned.
