Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process and Maintenance Supervisor to join the Process Engineering team in West Lafayette, IN. You will lead technicians, oversee maintenance activities, and drive continuous improvement across Manufacturing Operations.

You will implement safety and quality standards, develop work instructions, and mentor staff while applying SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate's degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Two years of leadership experience.
• Five years of manufacturing-related technical experience with an in-depth understanding of manufacturing equipment programming, maintenance, and repair.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Define performance standards, review outcomes of performance goals, and set future targets for technicians and specialists.
• Assign technician duties and oversee training needs.
• Troubleshoot processes, equipment, machinery, and systems while documenting and tracking failures.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment.
• Perform equipment and software evaluations and lead continuous improvement activities throughout Manufacturing Operations.
• Create, update, and maintain control of department work instructions.
• Work within established safety and quality standards.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
• Apply the philosophy of Understand. Create. Simplify. in daily work and decision-making.
