Job summary

HSM is seeking a senior Manufacturing/Process Engineer to lead teams, optimize production, and drive Lean improvements across multiple locations. The role focuses on process validation, tooling, and cross-functional collaboration with Controls Engineering and Maintenance.

Ideal candidates have strong experience in metal, foam, or assembly operations, with a background in ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and the ability to travel up to 25% for installations and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; eight years of relevant manufacturing experience may substitute for a degree.
• Five years of manufacturing or process engineering experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Experience supervising technical personnel and balancing daily production support with long-term projects.
• Automotive or Tier 1/2 manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop the team: set priorities, allocate engineering resources, coach talent, and build accountability.
• Strengthen manufacturing performance: lead process development, time studies, line balancing, and material-flow improvements.
• Drive root-cause investigations and Lean initiatives to reduce scrap, downtime, and cycle time while improving yield and throughput.
• Deliver launches: manage projects within scope, schedule, and budget from feasibility to production handoff.
• Advance equipment and automation: collaborate on selection, tooling, fixtures, and commissioning.
• Protect quality and compliance: implement process controls and validation evidence for ISO/IATF and customer requirements.
• Create reliable engineering systems: maintain BOMs, routings, work instructions, and ERP data.
• Design safety into processes: integrate ergonomics, guarding, and workplace organization.
