Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Lead Process Engineer to join the Manufacturing team in Pullman, WA. You will lead engineers, technicians, and associate engineers in expanding, deploying, and sustaining PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes.

The role emphasizes mentoring, strategy execution, and improving manufacturing performance while aligning with SEL values and World Class Manufacturing principles. A BS degree and 3–5 years in relevant processes are required.

  • 3-5 years' experience in electronic manufacturing processes and PCBA cleaning and conformal coating equipment.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Able to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.

Job description

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join our Manufacturing team as a Lead Process Engineer in Pullman, WA. If you are looking to grow your career and are motivated by solving meaningful problems, we encourage you! As a Lead Process Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading engineers, associate engineers, and technicians in the expansion, development, deployment, and sustainment of PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes.

A typical day as Lead Processing Engineer might include:
  • Mentoring and coaching other engineers and technicians.
  • Assisting management in developing and driving the execution of operational and strategic objectives.
  • Driving high quality and efficiency in the manufacturing processes, operations and tools.
  • Managing or preparing documentation, including experiments, component and equipment qualifications, assembly materials qualifications, etc.
  • Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
This job might be for you if:
  • You have a B.S. Degree or equivalent.
  • You have 3-5 years' experience in electronic manufacturing processes and PCBA cleaning and conformal coating equipment.
  • You have leadership and communication skills.
  • You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • You can work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • You have background check results satisfactory to SEL & negative drug test result(s).
It is a plus if you have:
  • Experience with PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes.

Pay Range
  • Pay Range Data - $115,300 - $150,000 annually

We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Lead level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
