Job summary

Alta Resource Technologies seeks an Associate Director of Process Development in Boulder, CO to lead lab- and pilot-scale separation process development. The role oversees a team of scientists and engineers, designs experiments, and drives process improvements for scalable separations.

The role requires extensive chromatography experience, strong modeling skills, and hands-on leadership to enable technology transfer to demonstration facilities and ensure robust data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 10-14+ years of laboratory experience in research or industry.
• 4+ years of chromatography experience
• 3+ years of management experience
• Strong fundamentals in chemical engineering and separations

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of scientists and engineers.
• Define development strategy for chromatographic separations at lab and pilot scale.
• Develop experimental designs and data analysis workflows.
• Oversee technology transfer to demonstration plant.
• Ensure safe lab practices and rigorous documentation.
• Collaborate with Analytical Chemistry, Protein Engineering, and Engineering teams.
• Present results and recommendations to Company leadership
